What ages can join?
In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, training is done in two styles:
Gi — Students wear a traditional uniform (gi jacket, pants, and belt). The uniform allows for grips, holds, and techniques that use the fabric for control.
No-Gi — Students wear athletic clothing like a rashguard and shorts. Without uniform grips, training is faster-paced and relies more on body positioning and movement.
what is gi vs no gi?
WHAT do i need to know before my trial?
Just show up, have fun, and be ready to learn. Here's what to expect:
Arrive 10–15 minutes early — Time to check in and ensure your waiver is signed.
Wear comfortable athletic clothing — T-shirt or rashguard and athletic shorts/leggings. Avoid pockets or zippers if possible.
Bring water — Training is active, so stay hydrated.
We train barefoot on the mats — Wear sandals or slides for easy on/off. Shoes must be removed before stepping onto the mats.
Let your coach know about injuries or concerns — We'll help you adjust as needed. For serious injuries, please have doctor's clearance before participating.
Maintain proper hygiene — Come clean, with trimmed nails, fresh clothing, and long hair tied back. This keeps everyone safe and comfortable.
