Our Jiu Jitsu program is the foundation of Old Magnolia MMA. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu uses leverage and technique to control opponents, escape danger, and apply submissions.
Following the Carlson Gracie lineage, our training emphasizes pressure, strong positional control, and a smash-and-pass style. We offer programs for all ages and experience levels, including youth classes, competition teams, and adult training. Whether your goal is self-defense, fitness, or competition, we provide practical, effective training for every student.

Little Bulldogs
AGES 3-6 (MORNING CLASS)
Little Bulldogs Jiu Jitsu is an introduction to movement and martial arts for our youngest students, designed to build coordination, confidence, and listening skills through fun, movement-based training.
This program is offered two days per week on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 10:15am and runs simultaneously with our Homeschool Jiu Jitsu class.

AGES 7+ (MORNING CLASS)
Homeschool Jiu Jitsu is the perfect mid-morning outlet for homeschooled kids to stay active, build social skills with peers their age, and learn practical self-defense in a supportive environment.
This program is offered two days per week on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 10:15am and runs simultaneously with our Little Bulldogs Jiu Jitsu class.
JUNIORS
AGES 4-7 (EVENING CLASS)
Our Juniors Jiu Jitsu class is our evening program held Monday through Friday at 5:15pm.
In this class, students learn to use leverage and technique to stay safe, control an opponent, and reach better positions. Lessons focus on movement, body awareness, and learning how to defend and escape on the ground, while building discipline, confidence, anti-bullying awareness, and self-defense skills.
YOUTH
AGES 8-12 (EVENING CLASS)
Students learn practical jiu jitsu while building confidence, awareness, and work ethic. Classes meet Mondays/Wednesdays at 6pm and Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays at 5:15pm. Open to recreational students and competitors alike.
Youth Competition Team (Coach Approval Required)
For committed students ready to compete. Training includes live rounds, conditioning, and strategy work.

AGES 13-17
Our Teens program is designed for students ready to learn more advanced jiu jitsu while still training alongside their peers. Teens train together as a dedicated group but participate in instruction during our adult-labeled classes. Class age may vary based on size, maturity, and readiness.
Teens should refer to the schedule under Adult-labeled class times.
Adults
AGES 18+
Training for all levels—whether your goal is self-defense, fitness, competition, or MMA. Jiu Jitsu is a core discipline of mixed martial arts, and our classes provide technical training and strong community support.
Fundamentals Class (Tues/Thurs at 6pm): Essential movements and concepts with no live rolling. Ideal for beginners.
Regular Adult Classes (Tues–Fri at 9am, Mon–Thurs at 7pm, Fri at 6pm): Technique instruction followed by live rolling.
